Occupational Therapy

Building independence in play, self-care and everyday movement, so daily tasks stop being a battle.

Our Occupational Therapists focus on supporting children whose condition or difficulties affect how they move, use their hands, manage their body, and participate in daily life.

We work with children living with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome, Autism, genetic and chromosomal conditions, injuries, and other developmental diagnoses. Many of our families come to us after a hospital discharge, following a new diagnosis, or when their child is ready to work intensively towards specific goals.

If your child's challenges are impacting how they participate in daily life, such as getting dressed, using their hands, managing a wheelchair, building strength and coordination, or accessing the right equipment, then you're in the right place.

FAQs

Occupational Therapy questions, answered

A referral isn't required to book an initial appointment, though your funding type (such as NDIS, Medicare or private health) may have its own requirements. Let us know your situation when you get in touch and we'll guide you through it.

There's no set age. We work with babies through to teenagers, and many families start as soon as a delay or difficulty is noticed, since earlier support often means better outcomes.

This depends entirely on your child's goals and needs. Some children benefit from weekly sessions, others from fortnightly visits or block/intensive programs. We'll recommend a plan after your first assessment.

We ask parents and carers to be very involved. That means helping set the goals for your child, being active in sessions rather than just observing, and practising with your child between appointments. The more involved you are, the better and faster the results tend to be.

Your therapist will give you practical, tailored strategies and a home program designed to fit into your family's everyday routine.
