Do great work. Keep growing. Find your place at BOOM.

A career at BOOM Kids Clinic is about more than finding your next allied health role. It's about finding a team where you can become the clinician you want to be.

We bring together highly skilled clinicians, genuinely varied paediatric caseloads, advanced areas of practice, exceptional therapy environments and a strong support network, with opportunities to grow in clinical practice, leadership and beyond.

Whether you're early in your career or looking for a workplace that can offer you something more, there's room to grow at BOOM.

Why BOOM?

Because some workplaces really are different.

There are plenty of allied health jobs out there. We want to give you reasons to choose this one. At BOOM, we've deliberately built the kind of workplace we wanted to work in as clinicians: interesting caseloads, exceptional facilities, advanced clinical practice, genuine multidisciplinary work, big investment in learning and career opportunities that don't stop once you become a more experienced therapist.

We don't just say "varied caseload"

We mean it.

A varied caseload isn't seeing the same presentation all week with slightly different goals.

At BOOM, our therapists work with children with cerebral palsy, neuromuscular conditions, rare genetic syndromes, acquired brain injuries, limb differences and amputations, developmental differences and a broad range of other presentations. In the original SWKC team, more than 70% of clients had some form of physical disability, creating genuine variety in presentation, complexity and clinical needs.

And with different presentations comes the opportunity to use different skills.

One day might involve upper limb therapy, AAC access or mobility equipment. Another might involve early intervention, feeding, intensive therapy, splinting, positioning or working towards everyday independence.

You don't just build a bigger caseload. You build a much bigger clinical toolkit.

Multidisciplinary. Actually multidisciplinary.

We don't mean four disciplines whose names happen to appear on the same website.

Our OTs, Physios, Speech Pathologists and Dietitians learn from each other, discuss cases, share clinical knowledge and problem-solve together.

When it benefits a child, that collaboration moves directly into therapy. Clinicians can run joint sessions, complete assessments together, collaborate on equipment and positioning, develop goals with families across disciplines and contribute to coordinated planning and reporting.

You get to see how another discipline thinks, learn skills you wouldn't necessarily encounter within your own professional bubble and approach complex cases with more perspectives around the table.

That's what we mean by multidisciplinary.

Facilities that change what you can do

It's hard to deliver creative therapy when your environment limits you.

So we've invested heavily in making sure ours doesn't.

Across BOOM, our clinicians have access to purpose-built therapy environments and specialised equipment designed to give them more options in how they assess, treat and engage children.

Our larger clinics take this even further, with expansive therapy gyms, rehabilitation technology and equipment you simply won't find in a typical paediatric clinic.

More space. More equipment. More ways to make therapy work.

We take your development seriously

Your development at BOOM isn't about ticking off generic PD or following one predetermined career path.

Whether you want to build advanced skills in complex equipment, AAC and alternative access, feeding, upper limb therapy, mobility and positioning, intensives or another area of practice, we'll support you to go deeper through clinical supervision, mentoring, external training, peer learning and access to clinicians with advanced skills.

And growth can take you in different directions. Become a clinical specialist, mentor others, lead a project, develop a new service or program, move into leadership, or carve out a pathway that doesn't exist yet.

We want you to keep developing, discover where your strengths and interests can take you, and have the opportunities to build a career around them.

Your career shouldn't hit a ceiling

Not everyone wants to become a manager.

Some people want to become exceptional clinicians. Some want to specialise. Some want to teach or mentor. Some want to develop services. And some absolutely do want to lead.

We want BOOM to have room for all of those careers.

Our pathways can include advanced clinical practice, portfolios and projects, student education, mentoring, service development, senior clinical roles and formal leadership opportunities.

You can test new responsibilities before taking a big leap, and as BOOM grows into new locations and services, we expect the opportunities available to our people to grow with it. This builds on the existing model of portfolio roles, emerging leadership opportunities and individual career planning.

Great people make a great workplace

The facilities are impressive. The equipment is exciting. The opportunities matter.

But you'll spend your working week with people.

We want BOOM to be a place where people share what they know, ask for help, celebrate each other's wins, have ideas, challenge how things are done and genuinely enjoy being part of the team.

You should be able to walk down the hallway and find someone willing to help you think through a difficult case.

That's the culture we're building BOOM around.

Boom Support Framework

A support network that grows with you

At BOOM, support doesn't come from one person or one supervision session. You're surrounded by a network of experienced clinicians, Team Leaders, peers and mentors who you can learn from, problem-solve with and turn to when you need another perspective.

The aim is simple: you should always have people around you who can help you keep learning, challenge your thinking and take your next step.
